Careysville Fishery on the River Blackwater – one of Ireland’s best
Careysville Fishery offers some of the best salmon fly fishing in Ireland and includes 26 named pools. It is considered by many to be one of premier beats for salmon fishing in Ireland. Wading is excellent and among the numerous streams, pools and glides there is a great variety of fly fishing to suit both complete novice and challenge the most competent of fly casters. Access to either bank is via boat and for those pools further down the beat, we have our own 4×4 vehicle.
Private fishing in exclusive surroundings
Careysville has been in the ownership of the Duke of Devonshire’s family since the 1930s. The fishery is discretely situated within a 160 acre private estate, half a mile from the nearest road. With its beautiful scenery, warm hospitality and enviable catch records, anglers from near and far return again and again. There are two very experienced full time Ghillies on the fishery. They are on hand to offer help and advice as well as tuition, if required.
